Will Tablet Replaced Personal Computer?

A few months ago there was a surprising fact that was released by International Data Corporation (IDC). Their research showed that global PC shipments worldwide have declined by about 3.2 percent during the first quarter of 2011. This is the first time in history.

Not only IDC, Gartner also noted the same fact, namely decrease in total PC shipments worldwide, although with different figures. Gartner noted in the first quarter 2011 PC shipments worldwide in just 84.3 million unit, down about 1.1 percent from the previous quarter.

According to Gartner analysis, low-cost consumer PC that has stimulated the growth of PC in the world today are no longer attracted the attention of users. Instead consumers prefer to buy a tablet or other portable gadgets.

Differences of opinion expressed by the Director of Marketing Europe Dell, Bryan Jones. According to a furore in the tablet market is only the euphoria that may be coming to pass. Jones compares these with trends tablet netbook that occurred in the last three years. The tablet has its own market and not a threat to desktop or laptop.

Jones also revealed a survey which proves that the majority of tablet users can not do the job well and productive while working on the tablet. Tablet users assume that the tablet only as an additional gadget and not only their device.

So, if the tablet will threaten the existence of a PC? The answer is not yet predictable, but we think the tablet will still grow with the potential that might just beat the PC. On the other hand, PCs (especially laptops) are still going to continue to survive as a device that is always needed. From this condition, likely to be born a lot of hybrid product, which is a combination of both.
